Casey has left FOX4. Any idea where he ended up? I imagine NYC or LA? I thought he was a great general assignment reporter and was an asset to KDFW. I guess they spent all their budget on Megan's
contract... :-\

Casey has gone to the FOX network in LA. It was his choice to leave Dallas and he's very excited about the opportunity.

Congrats to Casey, he was about one of the only general reporters on griffin street I really liked watching. He didnt mail it in like Phil Avacado or Shaun Rabbs Hat. He is a young guy with big talent. Too bad CBS 11 or WFAA didnt go after him when they had a shot.

I had a little of the "big head" so L.A. should be perfect for him. He wanted to be Mr. Serious News and then Tim and Megan are all yuks. No hating on the dynamic duo of the ratings, but Casey just wasn't a great fit for their motif. But how about a theory?

You ever notice Good Day can't keep a beat reporter? Casey just left. Lynn Kawono is still trying to find her place, but it ain't there. <<BRAIN FART>> but that cute girl from North Carolina from a while back? She's split too.

And Slam, WFAA did go after him... eh, you wanna work with those two dorks in the morning? ???

Let's see, the past few Good Day reporters have been Katherine Creag. She's now at Fox's flagship in New York. Before that it was Jason Overstreet who's consistently one of the best reporters in the market. Before that it was Brandon Todd. He's gotten stuck with Idol crap of late, but he's generally a solid reporter.

Sounds to me like the folks at Good Day have had good luck in finding good reporters. Casey Stegall is just the latest.

Musical Anchors at Fox Stations

There's a lot of movement going on, not the least of which is Lucy Noland, who is leaving the Fox station in New York City, and the Fox family for the 6pm/10pm anchor chair at Belo owned KHOU TV in Houston.I'm hoping she can present the news intelligently, but as we all know, that's not a requirement if you're a major league "babe" like she is.

Check her out on MikeMcGuff's Houston-based blog. http://mikemcguff.blogspot.com/2007/04/khou-channel-11-names-lucy-noland.html

You might also check out this video I found on YouTube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fB_cJ_D76A

I think I may start watching KHOU more often, starting next week. Shame on me, but I'll get over it.

Maybe I wasn't that clear... I know FOX finds good folk, that was the chief point (and thanks for Katharine's name... she was great). They just don't seem to keep them or utilize them completely and effectively on that show for some goofy reason.

You were clear, you just weren't right. Casey had an opportunity to go to LA and work with FOX NEWS NATIONAL, would you pass that up? Katherine C went back to NY where she went to school and has family, would you pass that up? Natasha went back to Seattle to anchor and where she also has family. Again, I ask, would you pass that up? I am sure those folks will be missed but when opportunities come a knockin' (and family is involved) you have to answer the door. Let's hope the next few stick around and have roots in Big D.

Sometimes, e-mail and posting suck... text has no inflection or character.

I KNOW they had a great opportunities come before them. I KNOW they were great to work with in Dallas. And I KNOW Fox hires great people that keep getting away. Just saying if they were maximized a little better here, maybe the coasts wouldn't be so tempting some times.

Eh, why keep explaining?! Where is that post on the worst TV web site again?

You don't get it: I think the premise of your original post is flat wrong.
I think the reporters are very well utilized on that show. There's nothing "goofy" about it. It's the reason why they get a shot at the nightside on Fox 4 or bigger jobs at the network level or in other markets.

You cannot expect someone like Stegall or Creag to stay in the job more than 2 or 3 years. They're in their mid-20s and want to have a life. Same goes for Overstreet and Brandon Todd before him. The good thing for Fox 4 and Fox in general is that they manage to keep these talented people in the company once they arrive here. None of them worked for Fox before they got to Good Day.
