Cassette deck on my boombox, is it breaking?

For one, one tape almost broke on it today.
The second tape did break, it seems like twisted philm is comeing out of the roaler spools. Not sure how that hapend.
Another thing I've notice is when I push the rewind butten down, that reel seems to go up further then its suppose too.In other words, the rewind real is higher then the play reel. The play real stays in one spot.
I am not sure but it feels as if there is some dirt in there and as if the tred is comeing off the reels. What does this all mean?

It sounds like it is time to throw it away. There is a flood of used cassette decks on ebay and they are so cheap. Anything you want for very little money.
