Castleton Football Coverage

As a proud Alum of Castleton State in VT, I thought it was awesome to be sitting in my living room in the Boston 'burbs, and watching the 1st ever Castleton football game live on the web at NEKSPORTS.NET! The video quality was awesome, it even showed the game clock and real time score. In addition to that, I thought the instant replay was a nice touch as well. Congrats to President Wolk, and the entire Castleton student body and administrations, this is going to be awesome. Another nice feature of the live coverage was of course, hearing Vermont broadcast legend, Jack Healey calling the play by play, it shows how serious NSN and NEK sports really are in VT. In fact , some fellow CSC alums, told me that they watched the game from their living room in the Rutland area, because the games are also carried live on PEG Channel 20! So kudo's all around, Castleton football is ALIVE and available to you on NEKSPORTS.NET, Congrats everybody! (oh yeah, congrats to Eric Berry , the NEK CEO, although he is a Lyndon State guy, he deserves a "job well done: for making it possible for us to enjoy Castleton football on the web)

Jack is the man, no question !! It would be nice to hear Vermont's Sportscaster of the Year, many many times running, over a terrestrial broadcast signal, radio preferred..

I watched the BHS-Rice basketball championship last winter on NEK as well...this is the project that Vermont's radio stations should have established. These guys absolutely hand Vermont's broadcasters their lunch.

This sounds like it's a great service. I support anything with Jack Healey, he's one of the best.

Case in point: Tomorrow, NEK will be broadcasting VIDEO of THREE Vermont football games, all of which are in the same 1 PM timeslot. Two are high school games, the third is Norwich.

At the same time, Burlington (my alma mater) will be playing at Spaulding. Yes, WSNO will be airing the game on 1450 AM, which would be helpful if I lived in Barre. However, I live in Boston, so I would have to rely on a stream. Nassau, for some reason, does not stream WSNO. They pay the rights fees to stream Frank, but somehow, streaming a TALK station goes beyond their abilities.

I've never worked for them, but I now see why everybody rips them around here.

Nothing can compare to live local radio that listeners can get ANYWHERE! NUFF SAID! CLASS DISMISSED!
