Casual or not

Watching KTVK you notice that their on-air staff is one of the most casually dressed crews around. Mike Chamberlain seemed to balk at the casual attitude at 3-TV and that may have been one of the reasons that he was let go. Recently, even Royal Norman has done a few broadcasts sans tie but it looks like it was forced on him to do so.

Earlier this week, KTVK solicited viewer feedback on their news shows and a large number of comments that were read on the air were from people discussing the clothing choices of the staff. While a large number of comments favored the casual dress, there were just as many that said they were tired of the excess cleavage being shown on 3-TV. There were also those that felt the 3-TV team needed to get back into a more formal mode of dress and news stories.

So does it matter to you if the on air team is all casual (jeans and a shirt) or should they dress in a business professional mode?

I actually like that we in phoenix have an option if we want the casual we have Ch3.. if we want the az republic news on air we get Ch12, if we want cool graphics and cool sounding bumpers we get Ch10, if we want the only 6:30 newscast we get Ch5 and if want to see what male anchor is used nightly we get Ch15. Variety.. its the spice of life and even news

Also, we get the cool Enforcer theme music on Channel 5! I loved this theme at WCBS in New York in the 80's. All Channel 5 needs to do is adopt the slogan: "All the news you need to know because anything can happen in Phoenix!"
