Cat Gone From The EDGE Website

I thought you left when Darwin did. Guess not.
 
sorry MT3 just because it was my first post it doesn't mean that I'm CAT...I'm not...it was just a simple question...that one would think would have a simple answer.
 
Cat will join Darwin once again and keep their happy little show together again.

I see Ol Darwin couldn't get enough exposure so he made an apperance on ROW on Friday afternoon...
 
The Edge has gone completely down hill since they let Nik Rivers go. At this point, they seem to have lost anybody with any talent. Their music adjustments over the past few months absolutely suck too. They now sound like an amateur version of Q-103. Ratings continue to be anemic. I highly doubt that they will be in business as the "Edge" a year from now....
 
Actually The Edge got back to the basics.

Nik was good at taking money from the talent by handing himself and Darwin the real paying appearance and remote gigs and leavin the rest of them to do free remotes for Fuccillo.

The "talent" IS lacking a might.

Bring Back Don Chopps and Put Renna back on nights...and MAKE him do it.

I hear she starts the 5th with Darwin at EQX. I thought they both went in the first place but I was wrong. Why the almost two month delay in bringing her on board?

It’s always fun to read rumors about yourself. I can assure you that Cat will not be joining me at EQX nor at any other radio station. The chances of us resurrecting the Darwin and Cat Radio Show are slim to none.

Granted we did a great show at The Edge, it was not healthy for us to work together. Unfortunately our relationship became toxic for reasons that are no-ones business other than me and Cat and it really was better off for us to go our separate ways. I made the decision to come back to EQX because I love this station and I’m proud of what the station does. Cat wasn’t ever in the equation for this station, and she I’m sure has been working on her own avenues but when I put in my resignation she opted to stick it out at Edge and see what happened… well, it did happen and I’m sure she’ll find something to do.

Either way - she won’t be arriving here. When she feels compelled to clue people in on her plans I’m sure she will.

As for the claim that Nik hogged all the remotes and threw a few my way - that’s absolutely not true. Truth be told Nik and I were far from buddies - we didn’t exactly see eye-to-eye on everything and although we got along fairly well we weren’t “buddies” to the point of him throwing me remotes. Really mine were far and few and I did my share of Fuccillo as well so wherever you are basing that on Stanwayback isn’t that accurate. I think you and Nik got along about as well as Nik and I did as a matter of fact..

Don’t get me wrong - Nik is a good dude and means well but sometimes people have different philosophies on radio and life in which they deeply believe and that can cause friction but overall it can be healthy if approached the right way. Nik and I are both at stations where we know how to thrive now and I congratulate him on his PD gig in Rochester!

I do have to stick up for my friends still at The Edge though. They are a very small handful of people working their asses off to make a station they believe in good and keep the Edge name alive and kicking. It was a privilege to work with Mike The Enforcer - what a great guy and someone who has more passion for that format than *anyone* I’ve ever encountered. Ralph has devoted countless hours to keeping the station on the streets, and Joy (Promotions Director) could run a freakin’ record label but she sticks around because she too loves the station. There are others on staff who believe in what they are doing and I hate seeing the station bashed on here because there are some very passionate people behind that station… people on here often forget that there are people behind every station and in more cases than not they care very much and are rewarded little for their hard work - they don’t need to be kicked in the teeth!
 
So...what is the Edge going to be doing about mornings now??? Lately it has been music and liners....
 
You could have said she is pursuing other opportunities instead of using the word toxic..

That's funny Darwin, I could hear you all the way across the office running your mouth about how stupid willobee was when you got to johnson rd.
 
I guess toxic wasn't the best wording - I meant our relationship was that... we weren't getting along and that wasn't fair to either of us... I do wish her the best and she'll land on her feet, she's got a good head on her shoulders.

I don't think I ever referred to Willobee as stupid BUT you are correct... it was true that I was immature when I arrived on Johnson Road in many ways - it was hard leaving EQX before, much like a breakup with someone you love. I was always unsure of my decision to leave EQX and I responded emotionally on an angry level that can only be blamed on my own lack of confidence in my new job... but I soon realized that being angry accomplishes nothing.

I'm very happy to be back here. I love EQX and I'm glad that Willobee is a such a great dude that we are able to bury any hatches we may have had and let things be water under the bridge. He is really a good human being and I respect him a lot. I left here for ABC as a very angry and immature person who grew up a ton in the last 2 years - and he saw that too.

Regardless of if you believe me or not I really felt bad about your departure and I didn't have much of anything to do with it. I wish you and I had kept in touch and maintained a relationship as I think you have a lot of overlooked talent and skills. I admire what you are doing in trailblazing an internet show and I think one day you'll be rewarded nicely for your hard work.

I don't want to bash anyone on here - or at least my intentions aren't as such. I'm happy to talk about radio, the great things we're doing at EQX or the great things others are doing at other stations!

'09 is a new year and a new beginning so let's all do it as friendly as we can, okay?

Who cares about Johnny45. hes busy polishing the shine on his bald head. the bigger question is what clear channel and the wolf think about the edge monday morning. will it matter to them in the long run? nope.
