Catholic station coming to the Bayou soon?

Since its in the commercial band they could try to sell it to a commercial operator, use the proceeds to setup a trust to operate a LPFM station that would be much more affordable. Looking at the CP though, this station will not cover any sort of population and will barely make it to Houma, having to protect KBZE on 105.9.

I wouldn't be so sure you could sell it to a commercial operator.

A few months ago, the FCC reserved a number of channels above 92MHz for non-commercial operation. (you can successfully petition for that under limited circumstances, including that no frequency below 92 is available)

Because it *is* above 92, it would not be impossible to get the non-commercial reservation removed -- but I think you'd probably have to show the conditions that allowed the reservation in the first place no longer exist.

Which may be possible if the reason for unavailability of spectrum below 92 was a channel 6 analog TV station that's no longer on that channel.

I hope the above makes sense!

Actually I think it would have to protect the second adjacent WWL and Third adjacent KXOR as much as KBZE and that's why I think it's stuck broadcasting from the Leeville Dock it is coming from. But BZE has had enjoyment for years of people being able to listen on his fringe in Houma, but apparently that will possibly come to an end depending upon the interference. But it will be a collision of fringe lines in Houma coming up for 105.7 and 105.9

The license was only for non-commercial interests and those were the only people who could apply. So I wouldn't expect it being able to be flipped any year soon to commercial status

105.7 was a frequency that the FCC had for expansion for years but I think was just set aside for non commercial at the filing to bring non comms into the commercial band.
