Caught My Eye

My home page is Yahoo. There are a number of ads on the page. Like billboards on the highway they just become part of the landscape. There is one ad on Yahoo for Orchard Bank credit card. One of those credit rebuilding type cards. Just happened to glance at the ad which features a picture of a credit card and noticed the name on the card......
Chris Thomas! Just thought that was interesting, if nothing else.

Was it his picture?

It is interesting if the credit card company is using dead people to promote their credit card.

Are they using defunked accounts from dead people for the bogus examples?

Not at all Jeff. Usually on those ads the name is generic like Jane Doe, however, this ad had the name Chris Thomas. No picture. Surely it is a national ad and the copy writer had no idea Chris Thomas was the name of a one time very popular TV/radio guy here. No big thing. It just caught my eye and I wondered if anyone else had noticed.

Since there was no pix, the "Chris" was a neuter name. Such as Terry, Dale, Pat, or Sam.

...or Sue. :D

Now you can imagine with all the video footage that must exist from Chris' days on Channel 8..and with the editing technology we have today...you might be able to pull off something like this...

Cute...

I'm thinking along the lines of Chris Thomas as a Max Headroom character doing sports.

There must be enough footage for that.
