CBC latenight slipup

It's a little past 1am EDT, and CBC Windsor is currently running the test pattern, a 1kHz tone, and what sounds like an episode of Emmerdale complete with network spots. Gotta love that cheap labor that has no clue what they're doing.

Is it limited to Windsor, or are any other stations along the network fouled up as well?
______________

Did CBET run a local signoff, or did they show a national signoff due to the lockout? If it's the latter, the goof was bprobably transmitted on all CBC O&Os, at least on the Eastern feed.

Not sure. Sign off was 11:30pm according to this week's schedule, and I was doing something else at the time.
______________

11:30? Can't they stay on the air with infomercials?...and use the revenue to produce more (better?) Canadian tv shows?(when the Labour dispute is settled, respectfully.)
______________

Unfortunately, infomercials are like cigarettes to TV stations -- once you start, you can't stop. If the CBC starts showing infomercials at late-night, they may end up keeping them on the schedule once the lockout's over.

To be honest, do we need another station to show infomercials anyway?

CBC won't show infomercials. Their policy is not to accept them; not sure they could as a "public broadcaster" if they wanted to. It might be a better use of the overnight programming time, and a way to pay for all that good programming -- oh, wait...I forgot. Lockout. Never mind!

Don't even encourage it, people. THIS IS THE CBC! Their primary stockholders are the Canadian public. Though there have been instances where companies have underwritten certain programs (the now defunct "Timmy's Christmas Telethon" for the Vancouver Lions being an example), their general policy is to steer clear of the worst cancer TV has.

Stare upon their way cool test pattern if you need a thrill at 3 AM. That swirly thing next to the white box will have you "hip-mo-tized" - at least until this lockout comes to an end.

Beat that, Chef Tony (you dope)!
