CBC Lockout Is History - Workers Overwhelmingly Ratify Pact

(Modified crosspost/copy from the Canada radio board:)

From the still bare bones CBC itself:

http://www.cbc.ca/story/canada/national/2005/10/09/CBCLO20051009.html

-----------

MOD EDIT: The site doesn't allow firect copy and pasting from other websites. Granted, it's only a couple paragraphs. I'm not sure if even a paragraph is allowed. I'll look into it but just to be safe...
------------

As noted below, Tuesday is the officially scheduled return day (Monday is a holiday, Canadian Thanksgiving), and some workers already returned to put on productions like Hockey Night in Canada on the TV side.

Last I read, CBC-TV's flagship news show "The National" will return with anchor Peter Mansbridge by Wednesday or so.

The local CBC websites are already back online. And, the Toronto website once again is promoting channel five (which it didn't for awhile before the lockout).
______________
