CBC RADIO 1 in Wisconsin

I live in Southern Wisconsin, and lately (well actually for the last 4 months) I have been able to recieve CBC radio 1 clear as a bell late at night when my local NPR station powers down to it's night authorization at about 51 watts. The station operates at a different frequency than the CBC station, but I'm using an analogue reciever (no digital readout - I have to twist the knob), so I know it's not that far off from 970 AM.

But I can't figure out which CBC station this is? CBC only ID's at midnight - if then? Any clues?
I'm thinking it might be from southern ontario, thunder bay or a relay thereabouts, but I can't be sure.

CBW/990 Winnipeg.

It pushes most of its juice into Manitoba, but at 50,000 watts, they're sending enough your way to get at night.

Unless they have changed very recently, CBW is non-directional. Another of the few remaining CBC AMs is CBK, 50 kw at 540 in Sask.

CBW-990 goes down to 46 kw at night. Station reduced its night power when it moved its transmitter site in the early 90's.
