CBC Radio 2 Victoria On Reduced Power.....

Victoria's CBC Radio 2 (92.1 MHz) tower on Salt Spring Island, which is owned by Roger's Communications is undergoing maintenance and they will be on reduced power until Sunday. So for crainbebo and other Puget Sound DXers up here, here's a golden window to hear whatever else that floats in on 92.1......

That maintenance is more than likely for the installation of the CIOC 98.5 synchronous repeater that Rogers received approval for last year on Salt Spring Island. CIOC-1 98.5 will operate with 45 watts. Originally Rogers had applied for 3,500 watts, but that was rejected on the grounds that it would cause interference to the proposed (now approved) 60 watt community station CKGI 98.7 on Gabriola Island.

I probably won't be hearing much on 92.1. There's not a lot besides CBU-FM1 to pick up on this side of the Cascades, except if you either go East of the Cascades and hear KUMA Pilot Rock, OR or down S to hear KTYG in Onalaska or the religious xlator in Delphi (IIRC?)
