CBC Radio One - Sirius 137 Schedule

FYI, for those looking, CBC has a webpage dedicated to its presence on Sirius:

And bizarrely, they choose the Atlantic/Maritime feed which is an hour ahead of eastern time! So now the World at Six airs at 5pm ET, 4CT, 3MT, 2PT! This is great if you're driving around Newfoundland, PEI, or Labrador, but what in the world were they thinking in this schedule?

Don't know, but it's not a big deal to me in that regard. And one other thing they're doing that is not directly shown in the schedule - the 9 PM ET airing of "World at Six" is actually the live 6 PM PT feed.

One thing to keep in mind here...CBC is scheduling this not for the U.S., but for Sirius Canada. Maybe they felt the need to come out of the box with "World at Six" in its first live airing, the Atlantic feed at 6 PM AT?

I haven't had a chance to hear it on Sirius yet, but my first reaction is: At least they're now running "World at Six" so us Yanks can hear it. And it's nice that one doesn't necessarily have to tune in at six in order to hear it. :)

Oh, indeed. I mean, I once set up my Pocket PC to run the CBC Radio One Internet feed, and used a cassette adapter to put it on my car stereo...

This was exactly the right way to go. A single channel serving all of North America airs the first and last editions of the evening news programs, with time enough only for Ideas and AT/BTC between them. The alternatives would have been unacceptable: either a single airing of the news programs for the whole continent...or a pure-news evening for the Eastern zone, with no departure from the events of the day until 11. <P ID="edit"><FONT class="small">Edited by JJS on 12/05/05 09:32 AM.</FONT></P>
