CBC Sells Out - Again

As CBC hands out pink slips, they also are shedding any pretense to journalistic principles. In the wake of their highly promotional - house must - puff ball coverage of Putin's Olympics (which CBC TV happened to carry), now CBC has started flacking for the FIFA World Cup. In order to make room in World Report and The World at Six on Radio1 for promo pieces, they are making quick references to additional stories at the end of the show and telling people to go to the CBS website to find out about them. Gee, if they are leaving out actual news so they can hype sports on TV, what do we need newscasts for? Just go to the web right off!
