CBC wins rights to 2014 and 2016 Olympics

That's great! CTV's coverage is terrible, as I've heard from certain sources. :-\

The thing to remember, is that CBC has tax dollars to pick up (some or most of) the tab for Olympic coverage.
CTV does not.

Is Bold still for sale? Or has CBC chosen to hold onto it as an extra Olympic channel?

Thank you, thank you CBC!! Now we can watch the Canadian coverage, which IMO is about 50x better than NBC Universal...

...but will they get Brian Williams back? Or will it be someone new?
I have to agree with you. Some of the CTV camera angles for the basketball and other sports were awful.
At one point it looked like the camera was way up in the cheap seats, zooming in as best as it can!!!

I didn't even look at the CTV coverage, because here in Seattle, Comcast only carries CBUT/2 as the only Canadian stn. CIVT 32/CTV is not on the lineup farther S than Mt. Vernon.

But still, no more god-awful-taped-delayed-events-hosted-by-Ryan-Seacrest anymore-after this year!

??? ...and when NBC is live, where is their 7 second delay?

The CBC probably won't do the kind of sliced, diced, up-close-and-personaled Olympic coverage that NBC does, especially of the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi, where prime-time will be all on tape.

NBC will have much less of a chance to do that kind of prime-time coverage for the 2016 Summer Games in Rio, since most prime-time coverage will be live. In Rio, NBC viewers will likely see far less "packaging" and far more extended live coverage of events in prime-time.
