CSI:NY survived for a few more years on Fridays- and all CBS is trying to do is get it to that magic 100 syndication number so its a valuable syndication property. TNT already purchased the rights a few years ago, but they just need to fulfill the order. Its not a bad programming decision, in my opinion.

I'm surprised by the absence of Mike & Molly, given that its also already been sold in syndication, to CBS stations no less. It seems like they're shooting themselves in the foot with its fall absence but maybe the schedules of the stars dictated the later scheduling. Arguably, CBS has some of the biggest names in new comedy pilots this fall, so someone has to take over the utility player comedy slot recently vacated by Rules of Engagement.

According to Broadcasting & Cable, "Mike & Molly" has a full 22-episode order, despite being a "midseason" show.

My guess is that "Mike & Molly" will film episodes on a regular schedule and the show will be available to take over at the moment one of the new CBS sitcoms falter. And if one of the new sitcoms bomb as bad as "How to Be a Gentleman" or "Partners," "Mike & Molly" could appear quite early in the fall.

Melissa McCarthy is currently(?) filming a movie with Susan Sarandon, so I imagine it's CBS's way of accomodating her.

So could NCIS Red.

What happened to NCIS: Red? I thought is was a definite go! Were the ratings of the backdoor pilot bad???

As for Hawaii 5-O, it might do quite well on Fridays. I think they're going for Blue Bloods/Hawaii 5-O combo and taking it away from the competition with Castle on Monday nights.

I'm glad to see Robin Williams coming back to TV.

I might try "Hostages".

"Rules of Engagement" will come back. It's the series that won't die. MUHAHAHA!

I'm hoping they give ratings to the VOD options (Verizon FiOS, Comcast, Hulu et all). As I type this I have an H5O & Bones episode on VOD to watch tonight.

I just went to the CBS website. It looks like they didn't release a videoclip for "The Millers" so if this is a indication of whats to come, it looks like one this just became a candidate for failure in the 2013-14 season.

I thought I heard CBS cancelled Person of Interest. Guess that news was a bit premature.

Friday's not necessarily the death trap it used to be. Blue Bloods seems to work well in the 10/9 Central time slot (this would be its, what, 4th season?). Possible that H50 as a lead in could do some damage, though. They really need to promote that show better. If H50 doesn't pull in good numbers by midseason, you could see both shows cancelled.

I've seen a lot of advertising for H5O. I personally enjoy the show...I thought it was kind of hidden on Mondays. Since they count the next week's VOD in the ratings, it should do well on Friday evenings. That said, I think that television networks (including cable) need to do a MUCH better job of promoting when new shows are broadcast (hint...emails, texts, like modern communications...).

Some trailers for CBS' new shows:
http://www.latimes.com/entertainmen...-are-men-mom-millers-20130515,0,1560922.story
(The link mentions comedies, but new drama previews also come up if you allow CBS' YouTube auto-playlist to continue--both the respective highlights from Intelligence and Hostages played through.)

I'd rather not damn new shows before I've had a chance at seeing an episode or two, but We Are Men and The Millers look like stinkers [creatively]. 'Men' seems to tread in waters that TVLand's The Exes already does. I'm not sure what The Millers is supposed to be other than another 'look at my kooky parents' sitcom a la Everybody Loves Raymond. But with Will Arnett, Kal Penn, JB Smoove, Jerry O'Connell, and Tony Shaloub cast amongst both shows, at least there'll be some star power.

For new dramas, Tuesdays at 10 ET,following the 'NCIS twins' is one of CBS's 'death slots'; there's always at least one more, during their sitcom blocks.

I personally enjoy the show too, as its mindless entertainment with pretty scenery and its not too dark, compared to some of the shows on cable now (which I enjoy but sometimes I just want to watch something pretty and shiny). I always felt it was lost on Mondays too- as its completely not complimentary to any of the CBS sitcoms and the competitors are all airing reality fare like the Voice, DWTS and the Bachelor. I'll finally have something to watch (read: record) on Fridays. Hostages doesn't look any lighter, though, and I wonder if CBS would benefit from moving something a little more dramedy friendly to this time period.

I know CSI: Miami was a top 10 show for many years at this time period, but Northern Exposure also did well here.

Any truth to the article I read that said they are going to bounce Angus from "Two and a Half Men"?
That was so several months ago. He's gone, written out in the season finale a couple of week's ago(shipping out to Japan, presumably a Skype-free zone).

What I've hard is that he'll be on occasionally.

Which is inconsistent from what he said when he announced his new religious faith.
