CBS' 60 Minutes on Philadelphia radio

I'm puzzled that Philadelphia is the only major radio market not carrying 60 minutes. KYW or WPHT needs to make a sacrifice and start airing this program.

Not a bad idea for WPHT. A terrible idea for KYW. KYW needs to have traffic every 10 minutes 24/7.

What's wrong with watching it on channel 3? I think channel 3 has it on every Sunday. If you need to hear it on radio, stick it on WIP-AM. No one appears to be listening to 610 anymore.

KYW has been airing the Face The Nation program Monday mornings at 3:05am. Now that it has expanded to a full 60 minutes, I'm not sure if they still air it.

Really ticked me off too. For many years that's when I was getting up and needed to hear traffic and weather. And they have Bob on the air asking politicans really dumb questions.

Put 60 Minutes on? WHY?

Shame on the FCC for phasing out broadcasts on 87.7 FM so Philly can't hear "20/20" on the radio anymore!

1060 airs it on Monday mornings from 1-2 AM.

Don't you guys get it? Julius is all about order and structure. It's not that he cares to listen to 60 minutes on the radio, it's the fact that it's a network show that is available everywhere and, in his mind, *should* be heard in Philly.

He would have been quite at home living in the '50s and '60s when the big networks were all routinely heard on Philly stations with their news at the top of the hour.

60 Minutes and Face The Nation both air on WCBS Newsradio 880 in New York the flagship station of CBS Radio. Why not on KYW or WPHT? ???

WPHT, yes. KYW, no.

WBCS runs that stuff because WINS exists.

<shrugs> Just download 60 minutes audio if you want it that bad...and listen whenever...FWIW one can already do that for most of the local WPHT shows...

The broadcasts were collateral damage of the digital switch. It was a happy accident that Channel 6 audio came over 87.7 FM.
