CBS And Tegna Renew Affiliation Agreement

https://tvnewscheck.com/article/top-news/235706/cbs-and-tegna-renew-affiliation-agreement/

WUSA and KHOU are Tegna Owned stations affected by the CBS Affiliation agreement

CBS Corp. and Tegna Inc. today announced a comprehensive, multi-year deal that renews station affiliation agreements for 11 Tegna markets nationwide, including two top 10 markets — Washington and Houston. The 11 markets renewed cover 10% of the U.S. audience and nearly 11 million households.

Tegna CBS affiliates are also locally available to subscribers of CBS All Access, the network’s subscription video on demand streaming platform.

“Tegna is a valued and longtime CBS partner,” said Ray Hopkins, CBS president, television networks distribution. “We are pleased to extend this important relationship between America’s No. 1 network and an industry-leading local broadcaster. We look forward to continuing this great relationship delivering premium content to the viewers we both serve.”

As are KENS 5 in San Antonio, WTSP 10 in Tampa/St. Pete & KREM 2 in Spokane

As for renewing with WUSA 9, it's not like CBS had anywhere they could've gone (Other than maybe channel 20 or 50, both of which CBS would rather avoid :D )

Meanwhile, Tegna will soon be in Hartford/New Haven. However, it will be owning our FOX affiliate and controlling our CW affiliate. WFSB-TV (CBS) channel 3 of Hartford is owned by Merideth. The one Tegna station I'm very familiar with is top-rated WCSH-TV (NBC) channel 6 of Portland, ME. They also own sister station WLBZ-TV channel 2 in Bangor, ME.
