CBS Atlanta schedule release

It's a schedule but they don't talk about anything except news and related programs.

Nothing about any other syndicated programs. Do they just go paid programming or something at off hours?

I see Big Bang Theory, Law and Order, some paid programming, Have a look at the schedule on another service and see if the holes are filled in.

Does "CBS news" ( National network) still have a presence in Atlanta? IIRC they were in the same office building that 96 Rock had their studios just off Claimont (I think but it was around 40 some years ago) in the 1980's.

CBS News’ Atlanta Bureau is located at Colony Square at 14th St. & Peachtree St., the same building the Audacy Atlanta radio stations are located in. Mark Strassmann is the main CBS News TV correspondent that holds the fort down at the CBS News Atlanta Bureau. Dave Malkoff, a former TWC (The Weather Channel) non-meteorological correspondent, is also a correspondent for CBS News based out of the CBS News Atlanta Bureau.

Here’s an update CBS News Atlanta to premiere on September 15th.
From the article quoted above:

Fortson-Evans will solo anchor both evening newscasts from the virtual set, guiding viewers through immersive reports that blend cutting-edge technology with trusted journalism.

So, they are investing upfront in this slick technology and going bare bones with live people. Atlanta Newsroom #5 will solo anchor.

I mean, we're talking about an owner that will be cutting staff groupwide in the coming weeks and months. There's no point in staffing beyond the bare minimum especially if positions may potentially be eliminated altogether or combined with other markets.

WUPA's purpose as a CBS owned-station is not to be competitive against 2, 5, 11 or even 46. Its purpose is merely to exist.

CBS needs clearance in Atlanta. I believe CBS's entertainment still makes money. Everyone thinks that CBS pulled its affiliation from 46. I seriously doubt they would have wanted to make Gray mad at them considering the number of CBS affiliates Gray owns. They have had chances in the past to make 69 an O&O when business was better. But I digress. Whoever at CBS bought 69 should get special recognition because CBS could be on an HD2 (or worse) like in ABC in Florida.

Even not having to build a set, starting an news operation is an expensive undertaking. They have several of these sets, so the expense shouldn't be as great as the first couple. Because they are under new ownership, serious funding for a competitive operation's number of reporters might not happen at the start. They might move some of the lower paid reporters that get axed to Atlanta at even a lower pay. The cost of living verses NYC or LA will make it seem like a raise.

IMHO Soon I am afraid someone somewhere will try AI "anchors" once they get enough "samples". No salary, no benefits, no ego.
