CBS Blood Bath - Tracy Morgan OUT/Morning show shake up

As if the massacre at B-94 and Star wasn't enough, is it true that long time midday Goddess Tracy Morgan is OUT? Rumor is CBS fired her today. IF so, she will be sorely missed. We love you Tracy!

Is that new lady, Ali fired from mornings? Is she taking Tracy's job? Is Stonie fired too?

What's going on over there? Why not keep the people with seniority? Too cheap to pay severance I guess.

Tracey out, Ally to middays, Stoney still afternoons.

HaHaHah...oh my, oh my goodness, OK...so if this isn't enough to make people stop listening to CBS stations altogether, I don't know what is.

Wow Keith Clark this is priceless. Cut the throats of your FMs that make money Y108 and Star with staff changes. And best of all put all your eggs in one basket to launch an all sports station. Looks like Sporting News Radio is back in the Burgh. Sad!!!!!!! CBS lost me as a listner of their stations. Ill get my country fix from Froggy. Ribbit!!!!!

Ha, I had to google this because I thought "what does 30 Rock have to do with anything?" You can tell I NEVER listen to country. She spells her name w/ an E in it BTW :-*

Can you really compare Keymarket to CBS? Doesn't Keymarket mostly compete in small to medium markets? CBS also employs Letterman and Keymarket does not. If they did , he'd be David Kermitman.

If Keymarket had any hopes of being creative outside of pickles and frogs they would flip two of their frequencies immediately to a CHR/Rhythmic format not only for those looking for an alternative to WAMO but those who will miss B94 and don't like the Clear Channel sound of KISS. Drop Seacrest and KISS wouldn't be that bad.

No they dont but they are not as stupid as CBS thats for sure.

That's right..they're "stupider" :p

Don't waste your time..just make the "jump" (pardon the pun) to satellite. Practically anything you want. You''ll be happy. Promise!

Keymarket doesn't have the signal(s) to compete in Pittsburgh city proper since 98.3 was sold. 94.9, 103.5 and
104.3 serve the suburbs and outlying counties (where most country listeners are) very well. They are doing the
right format with those stations.

Right and had Sheridan only kept 107.1....WAMO might still be on in Greensburg :p (where it wouldn't do as well)

But seriously..

Let's not forget, Keymarket (Forever) was in financial dire straits as well. It wasn't only Sheridan. That's why they sold 98.3. Smaller groups, "standalones", mom and pop stations, all have been struggling with the economy. Overall, all stations regardless of market, have been struggling. That's why it's not fair to say Urban didn't sell. Sure, it was a tough sell, as it is almost everywhere, but they made it work. Take the past 2 years, with no big guns behind them such as Radio One, CBS, CC, or COX..and it was inevitable.

After 1407 posts, I actually laughed at that one.

i may be in the minority here but i think "the fan" can win in the burgh.....
despite the fact that the have tripped up several times...i believe this could be ok......
AND...i think you will see at least one of the teams leave CC.......
don't lose sight of the fact that they can team KDKA as a backup for anything they want to do....

I can already hear my grandmother screaming at the radio.

"Why does KDKA keep taking my favorite shows off for sports."

What's left on the morning show? 2 guys competing to see who is the most irrelevant? Won't that be fun to listen to? The Titanic just hit the iceberg.

I don't think this move was Keith's idea.... I think it came from higher up... I wouldn't put the blame on him for this one..

Keith had nothing to do with the format changes. They were handed down from NY. He'll also have no oversight with 93.7.

He did, however, have a great deal of say in personnel matters. He's crafted a fairly expensive morning show on Star because he couldn't bear to part with the last two surviving members of JohnDaveBubbaShelly. That forced two other moves to fit under the "salary cap" he had to work with. That is why Allie went to middays and Tracey is out. Allie works cheaper plain and simple.
