CBS College Sports channel

Does anyone else have the CBS College Sports channel? Or should I say, the "Florida and Tennessee" channel. Insight just added it here, and I'm looking over their schedule. I see lots of football games from Florida and Tennessee, however very little of any of the other SEC teams. I'm assuming that they are running SEC games since CBS has the SEC football contract.

CBS College Sports is home to Navy football home games (save for Notre Dame @ Navy, which airs on CBS). It also airs Conference USA and Mountain West Conference games.

They aired some old Army-Navy games several weeks back.

They are re-airing old SEC games to get viewers geared up for the upcoming college football season.

Yes.

That's cool, but they do realize there are 10 other teams in the SEC, right? And 6 or 7 of those teams have pretty respectable football teams. Considering I'm a UGA fan, I really don't care to see Florida and Tennessee all the friggin time.

I've been watching some of these games over the last few days. What strikes me is how good CBS Sports was in the '90s (not to say they are worse today). They had Sean McDonough, Todd Blackledge, and Michelle Tafoya doing one of the games - and all 3 now work for ESPN/ABC. Just kind of shows the shift in talent from network TV to cable in only the last decade or so.

Even production wise, CBS used to kick ass. Now they seem to have fallen into the same trap that you have to have as much crap as possible on the screen at the same time. Flashy graphics, banners, crawls....all of it drives me nuts. I have a DVD from the 1980 Sugar Bowl that Georgia played in. It was all about the game. They didn't have the technology then that they have now is it was so great to be able to actually watch the friggin' game!
