CBS Consolidates Philly TV/Radio Station Websites

Not sure if anyone's noticed, but the websites for WIP, WPHT and KYW-AM as well as KYW-TV are now all under one roof on the internet:
http://www.cbsphilly.com

This is similar to what CBS did with their TV and spoken word stations in New York not too long ago.

I echo the previous comment, they did an awful job, of what should be a terrific concept. This is what happens when you have terrestrial radio stations and a local TV news outlet trying their hand at going digital and online. They don't understand the sociological and behavioral background of online, digital and noticeably absent MOBILE users. Provide us something here WE CAN'T GET ANYWHERE ELSE, then use the megaphones of your terrestrial outlets and local broadcast to tell me where to find it. Please don't regurgitate terrestrial radio and broadcast TV programming online. Extend the brands, don't COPY them over to another platform. Where are the mobile initiatives? Why is the site so visually unappealing for a visual medium?
Did you solicit feedback from (potential) users of what THEY want in a website, not what you want? I can't imagine that users would want this product.

Like in New York, it appears that they either eliminated or hid the ability to subscribe to a podcast (as opposed to listening to it from the website).

Is it really necessary for CBS, of all companies, to be frugal with their server space and put all of their station websites under one roof?

Once they merge the WOGL and WYSP websites, look out!

Maybe they'll just transition them like channel 57.

FYI: During the top- and bottom-of-hour local newscasts on WPHT, I have heard the anchors promoting the website cbsphilly.com - as opposed to the usual bigtalker1210.com...

The consolidation came at the expense of the archives of Rewind, one of my fave KYW-AM features. Rewind used to have +/-6 mos. of archives at a time. Now they have 10 days of archives.
