CBS Evening News Anchor

As I've said before, nobody wins an argument with him. You may think you're going to educate him, or convince him to change his views. He doesn't work that way. When people do that, he digs in deeper and hits back harder. Then he shuts down. We all saw that in his first term. As people in his first cabinet have said, he's a moron. He's an idiot. You're wasting your time if you think you or anyone can change him. He is the absolute wrong type of person to have in this role.

So you go in and let him say the stupid things that everybody has already heard a million times. In that way, he digs his own hole. That's what Murrow did to McCarthy. NBC got what it wanted out of it, which was a few promotable quotes it could put out there and have people attack or fact-check afterwards when he's not looking. That's how you handle him. Because if you do it to his face, he'll tear you apart. Then continue the attack afterwards on social media. Then he'll go after your company, and make it tough for them to operate,
That was a waste of time. I tuned in to watch the news and just heard Trump's BS for most of it. I liked Lester Holt and gave Tom Llamas a chance. I think it's time to switch to David Muir.

If that's the case, it's amazing CBS gets even half what ABC or NBC get. David, Bari, et al are working overtime to achieve a zero rating. I have a suspicion their long game is to shut down the Evening News due to "persistent lack of viewers", while never admitting that was the plan all along.

They need a revenue stream from something other than 60 Minutes. The Evening News is part of their deal with affiliates. They don't exist without affiliates. The O&Os aren't enough. They've been in third place a very long time. So this is nothing new.

Also Bari is a content person. She isn't responsible for finances. She just spends money, she doesn't make it. So it's really not her call.

Id bet local news gets a better rating than national.

Just like they're doing to the Late Show.

I watched "American Masters" with Dick Van Dyke. If he had been successful as a CBS anchor he might never have been the actor we know. But he wasn't very good. He worked with Cronkite. So nice to see him again.
