CBS Evening News...On Tape

Yes, oldiesfan... Phoenix has always been treated as "out there" by the East Coast.
As I watched ABC15 News Saturday at 4 PM broadcast the network feed live, it just emphasizes that local broadcasts of the national news are delayed. So when the screen says: "LIVE" - that means live when it was taped?
b t w Is 4 PM too early on Sat. / Sun. to do this on a regular basis? Isn't this network delay also done in the Big LA market?

From what I can determine, during the week the left coast feeds of the evening 'casts
are at 5:30, 6, and 6:30 PM PT. They are usually a replay of what went out live at
6:30 ET, however when warranted, some or all of the 'cast is redone live one or more
times. On NBC at least, look for the "Western Edition" graphic at the beginning.
Sometimes the anchor will announce it as a left coast edition.
