CBS Evening News

I'm sure that it doesn't make any difference, but watching Harry Smith anchor the CBS Evening News seemed to me like the best thing they've done since Cronkite retired. He's natural, likeable, and delivers a story with the proper gravitas (or lack of).

I love Katie Couric, but not as an anchor. I miss her goofiness, which would be totally inappropriate in that setting.

I've always liked Harry Smith. He's been a fixture at the Eye Network for a long time.

I'm surprised no one mentioned Russ Mitchell, who is Katie's substitute. Many people over at jumptheshark.com have been unofficially endorsing him as a better replacement for Katie.
