He just re-upped with Sirius, which includes an exclusivity clause. Are you sure it was Brucie you heard on CBS-FM?

In addition, Morrow recently bad mouthed CBS-FM in an interview. Why would CBS-FM even let him near their microphones after that?

I guess Cousin Brucie will be ending up as a guest jock on Sunday's "New York Radio Greats", probably soon. I love Cousin Brucie so much, because he is still the man. I love to hear him on the "New York Radio Greats" on Sunday nights 7-10 PM sometime soon.

Wayne, any idea of what was said? I must have missed it.

I would have thought that Brucie would have been more "professional" than to kick his old stomping ground, but I guess he has a Sirius attitude problem now.

:(

To license an expression famous around Boston, "that's just Brucie being Brucie!"

Don't hold your breath!

If Brucie approached Brian Thomas and Jeff Mazzei and expressed a willingness to do the radio greats show with a sincere apology I'm sure Thomas and Mazzei would probably jump at the chance to put a legend back on the air. Before you could say boo Thomas would be planning the date and drafting the press release, while Mazzei would be up at the boardroom selling the idea to the corporate bosses. Not gonna happen but if Brucie offered no way would Thomas and Mazzei not give listeners what they want.

The latter part of your statement says all you need to know. Brucie will never "beg" Thomas or Mazzei to be on CBS-FM. He has too much pride (and ego!). I'm sure it wounded him a great deal that he was never approached to be a part of the new CBS-FM in the first place and took the first opportunity afforded him by the press to lash out against them.

Oh, and one more thing--Jeff Mazzei doesn't belong on the air. He's a solid producer, but lacks the chops for a full time on-air gig, even if it is on the overnight shift. I know the corporates are rewarding him for keeping the oldies flame burining on WCBS-FM.com, but there are several jocks available in the market who are better suited for the gig (i.e.-Max Kinkel, Bobby Jay and Don K Reed) that CBS-FM listeners would enjoy listening to on those long winter nights ahead!

The only problem is that it looks like CBS is trying to save money. And since Mazzei is voice-tracked, he probably only makes a few dollars more than his regular salary. Why would CBS want to pay a full-time salary plus benefits to anybody when they can get away with what they're doing now? They don't care about overnights.

Just curious then what do you think about Mazzei's weekend counterpart Lenny Bloch?

Tell you the truth, I haven't had an opportunity to listen to Lenny.
