CBS-FM DJ SALARIES

One would think that since CBS begrudgingly went back to a format with some live djs after the failure of jack, that the current djs would be making the absolute minimum possible under the AFTRA contract. With the djs that
they currently have, they are being overpaid. It's not like we're talking about Dan Ingram or Bob Dayton. It will also be interesting to see if this station pulls enough key demographic audience to survive. There are just as many people unhappy with the station and djs as there are happy with it. If it turns out to fail, maybe CBS can
use it to take taxi calls. It would be another djless format unless you count the dispatcher.

You said it; it all depends on the union contract. If they have a good one, they'll do okay. However, now days the AFTRA minimum isn't really enough to live very comfortably in a major city like New York, LA, San Francisco, Chicago etc. The only way to get ahead is to make over scale, and most companies just don't do much of that anymore...

What do you base that on? A message board that you've already said to be full of crackpots, fanboys and wannabes.

Kind of pointless to respond to someone who makes a comment like that.

Since I'm a good sport, I'll respond.

Shhh, I'll let you in on some truth: There was nothing begrudging about the return to greatest hits on CBS-FM. If anything, most everyone who works at CBS-FM and further up the corporate ladder were pleased as punch that the station flipped back to greatest hits and threw JACK to the same dogs that ate up the same person who, without any warning whatsoever, was responsible for making the landmark decision that pulled the plug on possibly the most diligently loyal radio listener base in the world.

There are just as many people unhappy with the station and djs as there are happy with it.

Which group do you fall in? Let me try and guess. Don't like the DJs? Perhaps they should hire you. I encourage you to send in an air check of your work. Perhaps Brian Thomas will like your work and might have a spot for you.
