Most likely WCBS is using an aux feed for the stream. Using the actual terrestrial signal as the stream's source, is a bad idea. All of that over-processing and clipping will play havoc with the streaming encoder / decoder.

In the on air optimod is an external input for streaming media. Maybe an idea to feed this from there so you have the on 'air sound' also on the stream. The AOL stream from CBS before the Jack flip sounds better. I think they feed this from the soundprocessor.
