CBS HD

I'd like to thank CBS for adding HD-3's to Star 100.7, Y108, and B94. Congratulations, your HD stations sound like TRASH now. Why do they need to carry KDKA on both Y108 and Star 100.7? And B94's HD-2 and HD-3 are playing very slow. I know they want to add more content to their HD sub channels, but why sacrifice quality? Their HD stations sounds like I am listening to streaming on my computer. The analog signals sound much clearer than the digital. Why ruin such a good thing? Any comments?

Also, why do they obliterate their heritage KDKA signal with IBOC sideband hash from their own stations on 1010 & 1030?

I have noticed that for the past week of so, 1250 WEAE appears to be shutting down the IBOC during
non-daylight hours. Can we hope that is the beginning of a trend?

CBS is trying to cram as much as they can onto their HD and streaming frequencies. In some markets they don't have the bandwidth to really do half of what they are trying and it sounds like Pittsburgh has been added to the list. Remember the people who are making the final decisions on HD and streaming are guys in New York who think they can fix their laptops by banging on the side of them with their hands and cursing.

It appears that there is the beginnings of a quiet realization in radio that IBOC doesn't work on AM and a handful of stations are slowly starting to back away from the technology. This is starting to look more and more like AM Stereo.
