CBS joins NBC, exits Providence

The Tiffany Network continues its strategy of departing smaller markets. Today CBS Corporation announced it is selling seven stations in four markets including CW affiliate WLWC to Cerberus Capital Management. Official press release here: http://www.cbscorporation.com/news/prdetails.php?id=1624

Well, 28 was really not their choice to begin with, they just sort of fell into it with all the mergers, and since they no longer own WPRI, it just doesn't make sense anyway. But CBS isn't really leaving Providence when you consider that WBZ and WSBK both put signals into the market from next door. Besides, 28 was being run out of WBZ Boston anyway...
