CBS joins NBC, exits Providence

Poor Channel 28. First it was LMA'd to WJAR. Then it was sold to Paramount Stations Group. Then PSG became CBS. And now CBS is selling ths station. Indirectly I'd say that's the 4th owner of the station in its short History.Though the license dates back 24 years the station only been on since the mid-late 90s.

Well, 28 was really not their choice to begin with, they just sort of fell into it with all the mergers, and since they no longer own WPRI, it just doesn't make sense anyway. But CBS isn't really leaving Providence when you consider that WBZ and WSBK both put signals into the market from next door. Besides, 28 was being run out of WBZ Boston anyway...
