CBS Launching Sports Radio Network

Very interesting....If there was some kind of a crossover managing (however that would look), one would think that would mean even more doom for The Fan hosts with The Ticket pulling better rating and revenue across all shows. IF they were smart they would run The Ticket on 105.3 and run network on 1310. Similiar to the plan for other multi signal markets. But in those cases they are both owned by the same group.......Interesting indeed.

Cumulus would likely farm out B&C to The Fan until the Musers' contracts run out. Whenever that is. When the changeover happens will be the end of the Ticket as we know it. Corporate radio sucks.

Even though Cumulus will market and sell the time on the network, KRLD-FM and KTCK are still owned by two separate companies. So there is no guarantee that any hosts would be moving to the other stick.

The only reason I bring up a move like that is due to the fact that The Fan is barely competing with The Ticket. Matter of fact, the are coming in third behind 103.3. With The Fan programming locally up to midnight, the station can't be bringing in a lot of revenue, if any. CBS may look at this as opportunity for the multiple reasons. If CBS completely lets go of The Fan staff and worked out an arrangement with Cumulus to swap signals, they can broadcast the network on 1310 24/7. At launch that would give CBS SN 5 of the top 10 markets that would be 24/7 network broadcasters. This could also produce a more positive affiliate relationship with The Ticket (can't beat them.....). As radical as this idea may appear, it would make both financial and strategic sense to consider.
