CBS national closed captioning error

Well, CBS had a little bit of a problem tonight.

During Blue Bloods closed captioning intended for HBO's Real Time with Bill Maher aired. Unfortunately this included the F-bomb.

CBS affiliates from Altoona to Arizona are apologizing for the mistake, which apparently was national in scope. The network has released a statement saying it is investigating.

Here are some samples of the content that ran over CBS closed captioning.

If this happened during Survivor despite the earlier hour, it would be noticed immediately since they go real-time to keep the spoilers confined.

During Blue Bloods though? I am glad I'm not the third shift switchboarder at a CBS station. Looks like somebody at Television City sent out the CC stream in duplicate from Studio 33 and CBS master control; I didn't notice any CC errors or Tom Selleck'ish dialogue during Real Time tonight.
