Anybody watcht the CBS Evening News tonight??

They were talking about the Harriet Miers story (tough news to take) and they "got reaction" from here. They were at Kel's Kitchen, i think, on Forest and Inwood in Dallas. Nice little diner. They've been there before, during the election. I think that is where they were this morning.

They went around the city getting reaction, even talking to a cab driver with a sign for "The Men's Club" on the top of the taxi. Great publicity for Big D. :(

I was extremely surprised when they interviewed MARK DAVIS! Why in the world would they interview someone from the main competitor. Not just CBS Evening News main competitor, ABC News, but also the CBS Radio affiliate main competitor. I was surprised they didn't talk to someone from KRLD.

Anybody else see this oddity?

I would guess the reason CBS went to Mark Davis is because he is the most poular Local Talk Show host. Whether you agree with his politics or not he has the best ratings. Just my opinion.

CBS Television News still has high journalistic standards. They know better than to embarass themselves interviewing ANYONE from the brainless KRLD!

Doesn't he do an AM spot on their local morning show on Thursdays? Network is looking or reaction and just happens to have him in the studio. Sounds more like good use of resources to me.

I don't think anyone at CBS network TV News gives a damn about offending some low-rated local radio affiliate. The editor probably said "Get reaction from the top talk show host in Dallas."
As small a blip as KRLD is here in Dallas today, it is totally blipless in New York. In fact, I think that's their new slogan... BLIPLESS 1080, KRLD.

Saw it - wasn't surprised at all.

Davis is the most popular local talk show host in the state.

Who would CBS go to at KRLD? Mike Gallagher? He's not really a "local" talk show host.

I suppose they could have talked to Daryl Ankarlo at KLIF, but why show all those "Fox News" banners in the studio?

Davis is the top guy in this market and he knows how to do television better than the other guys. CBS, NBC, ABC, Fox.. they should all use him if they want a comment from a DFW talk show host.

Mark Davis knows the camera, and has a good presence on it. He is articulate and as one mentioned before, whether you agree or disagree with his opinion,he is the most logical choice to go with on an issue that affects this community.

Where someone would ask, "Harriet who?"

And they would ask when the Supremes had their own court and was Diana Ross the Chief Justice.

And how wonderful a thing would that be...the final dagger in the heart of the beast! Do it, please!
