CBS Newspath report

I believe CBS news has now achieved the pinnacle of sloppy reporting.

In a CBS Newspath report today regarding the office shooting in Henderson, KY, the package showed a map of where Henderson, KY is located. The bullet pointed at an area near Bowling Green, not near the Ohio River!

My first thought was that the reporter didn't know where she was, but the outcue was "CBS News, New York."

The report aired on WISH-TV's morning and noon newscasts. It can be viewed at wishtv.com. The map appears at about :45 into the clip.

The map shown on the Early Show was correct.

Err.....I hate to say this but unless you can provide another link that shows that the reporter was ACTUALLY IN (As in THE VIDEO PHYSICALLY PUTS HER) in Henderson, KY and not in New York as she claims, I would have to ask WHAT DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH THE PRICE OF TEA IN CHINA??

Cheers :)

The reporter never appears in the report. It is only a voiceover.

Since the CBS affliliate nearest Henderson (WEVV in Evansville, IN) doesn't have a news department, I imagine Newspath was scrambling to take whatever they could. They couldn't have taken a feed from Bowling Green, since there's no affiliate with a news department there either.

I guess they using NNS material, but still, that's a pretty sloppy map. If WISH used it at noon, they should have caught the anomoly and covered it with their own map (which was accurate).
