CBS (or anyone else) please steal my idea!

My idea for classic hits, that is.......

using CBS for an example:

THE BIG 101-The Space City's Greatest Hits

Our Playlist:
Behind Blue Eyes-The Who
Blackbird-The Beatles
Brickhouse-The Commodores
Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood-Eric Burdon
That Girl-Stevie Wonder
Wouldn't It Be Nice-The Beach Boys
Dreams-Fleetwood Mac
Love Child=The Supremes
Stayin' Alive-Bee Gees
Look Through Any Window-The Hollies
I Wish It Would Rain-The Temptations
Hey Nineteen-Steely Dan
Pretty Woman-Roy Orbison
Got to Give It Up-Marvin Gaye
Turn,Turn,Turn-The Byrds
Tired of Waiting for You-The Kinks
Aint no Woman Like the One I Got-The Four Tops
Something-The Beatles

Get the right guys and girls to personalize it and would probably makes beaucoup money.....
The music selection will lean slightly rhythmic to get the Hispanic audience and the African-American audience. It will incorporate songs that were popular on KLDE/KHTC, and jingles will come from KILT in the 70's. A "new" song could be added from the 80's even the 90's (ex:Start Me Up-(The Rolling Stones, Girls Just Want to Have Fun-Cindy Lauper (80's), Look What You Done-Jet, Sunday Morning-Maroon 5 (90's/2000's)) And will be everywhere, frequently sponsor concerts at Discovery Green, for example.....And make the website a social network friendly site for adults to use......

Once again this idea is up for grabs.....

One thing I pick 101, (Mega 101) because, I am think WCBS and K-Earth 101 are both on 101.1, why not another successful classic hits station?

I understand that mega is doing pretty well, so I don't think it will happen on 101.1.

Somebody might get the idea of buying an underperforming AM station and converting it to oldies, operating costs could be pretty low if they picked up an oldies network or got permission to re-broadcast a good one like KONO.

Until then, the best option on FM seems to be 92.5, which should be pretty good in cars on the East side of town - somebody might consider buying it and moving it closer, but the second adjacent limitations would make it a rim shot at best. The way it is now, it gets submarined by 2 or 3 stations like yet another KSBJ translator, etc. Of course, KLUV comes in frequently on skip. Late at night, its hard not to pick them up.

AM - I wouldn't call the 1540 in Galveston oldies, but they play some. I don't know if that thing could be moved in or upgraded, but it would undoubtedly raise protests of taking away a Galveston local. Houston certainly needs oldies more than it needs yet another Spanish language, sports, or talk station - already way to many of those for all to make a go of it.

KONO is actually pretty strong, but only in the far Western suburbs and only on a radio with decent selectivity. But it is a great station, well worth the occasional splatter from that useless 850 garbage.

At night - I haven't tried for the 1700 from the valley, but it might be pretty good.

Radio Disney used to play oldies occasionally, but since their studio move from Arlington to Los Angeles, they have concentrated on top-40 and their own recording artists, and the oldies are gone.

I've found a couple of other AMs, but they are very weak and not viable except for those with really good equipment in a low interference setting.

The idea of transforming 101 to a decent station consistent with the other 101s nationwide makes too much sense. Therefore, it won't happen.
