Medium market stations. Any guesses who will be the victims?

They're dumping 50 medium market stations?

They don't OWN 50 medium market stations. They already got out of Austin and Kansas City...last year...this post could use some clarification.

I agree that they really don't own any medium market stations. However, as has been pointed out on the New York board, they'd be at exactly 50 stations if they sold off their 11 smallest markets.

Yes, for everyone who "B and M's" constantly on this board about "corporate radio", this should be viewed as great news!
Returning some of these markets to single owner or small company ownership might actually un-stifle some of these stations. Imagine the possibilities, local radio from local people! What a concept.

I'm lovin' it!

If this happens, and becomes a trend, maybe radio as we used to know to would come back to some semblance of the past. It would be nice to have stations that actually cared about themselves in their relationship with their community and their employees. Radio has hurt itself so many others in the last 15 years, good logical thinking would be welcomed by everyone.

Wow! It was great to dream for a few minutes!!

If CBS sold their stations in Charlotte, N.C., Hartford, Cleveland, Tampa, Orlando, West Palm Beach, Las Vegas, Sacramento, Palm Springs & Riverside----I think that adds up to 50.
