CBS Radio New York Exited The Alt/Indie Market?

Neither WXRK nor WFFS are broadcasting in HD any longer. It has been this way since Friday. That mean now KRock on 92.3 hd2, and, more tragically, no more last FM on 102.7.

It's bummer alright.

I think it's a stretch to assume that CBS has dumped K-Rock and Last FM. They're both still streaming. WXRK and WWFS seem to be having signal issues this week as they both have lost their HD (and HD-2s and HD-3s). I believe they're on their backup transmitters since the analog RDS is also missing, and they (especially 102.7) seem to be running at reduced power. I would expect the HD to be back up soon.

I also noticed 101.1 WCBS HD-2 (ToNY) is or was silent today. I'm not sure what the problem is there.

90.7 WFUV was silent during pm drive today as well. All kind of issues today!

They should go back into it on terrestrial radio. Fresh is really looking close at a Adult CHR/Alternative Hybrid format they played Black Keys, I think of Monsters & Men (which I bet 99.9% of the NYC metro area doesn't know because we lack an alternative rock station), and Linkin Park's new song (Which Z100 has failed to play not suprised).

Maybe the HD transmitters failed. They've been off since last Saturday, which was convenient since there was a tropo and an e-skip opening this past week. I got Kissin 92.5 from Missouri in Battery Park, Manhattan, something that I wouldn't have been able to hear if there was IBUZ. Hopefully the chief engineer isn't forced by corporate to turn the IBUZ back on.
K-Rock is still streaming online.

The only people who would notice the HD is off the air are radio geeks and DXers.
