Anyone know whats going on there?
After having pretty good anchor stability for a couple of years, since Christopher Glenn left about a year ago, the schedule has been in a constant state of flux.
First Jim Chenevey moves from overnights to mornings, with Dave Barrett to overnights, now they've switched. Bill Whitney lost the middays and went to evenings. CBS added Jim Taylor to middays Th-Su, but he seems to be gone more than he's there. Is he actually officially a CBS anchor, or just working there on a fill in basis? Cami McCormack and Lou Miliano seem to be doing more subbing in the chair than the regular anchors are actually there.
All the above doesn't bother me too much. But the disappearance of Bill Vitka the last month and a half on weekend overnights is disappointing (replaced by Tom Foty). Vitka is my favorite late night network news anchor. His smooth as silk and relaxed (but not NPR boring) delivery makes him perfect for those hours - whether I'm driving in my car or just taking a break from a project I'm working on. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping he's just hiding out on some shift I don't hear that often, but I have a feeling he's gone. I guess I'll have to settle for Gil Fox on ABC...
