CBS RADIO/SUNNY 1059FM with legendary afternoon drive talent "Domino" is here to show Orlando's radio market
how to get the job done.

Domino, with his quick on-air wit, charm and fun loving enthusiasm, I'm impressed to say, is single handily making radio fun to listen to again, taking over where all the other Orlando stations leave off, and giving-em a real well deserved spanking. I assure you, he will take SUNNY1059FM well over the top, and leave all the others, falling by the wayside. As a SUNNY 1059FM listener I couldn't ask for more.

It's nice to have a breath of fresh air in the house, and I'll be quick to point out,"DOMINO" IS IN THE HOUSE.....FUN RADIO IS FINALLY BACK IN ORLANDO AND ON-AIR WITH "DOMINO" at SUNNY1059FM...

Back to the original question, who is Domino? Where did he come from and how long has he been at Sunny? I think most of us here have given up on the station. I personally get
my classic hits fix from SiriusXM, but you have peaked my curiosity. I'll give a listen.

I nearly fell off my chair as I read this post. Do you all remember that famous response Lloyd Bensen used when Dan Quayle was thought of as a young Jack Kennedy - "Senator, you're no Jack Kennedy." Simply, Domino is no Dan Ingram - give me a break. Domino came on the scene a couple months ago. Look, he's ubeat and friendly with callers but he talks fast and he reminds me of a DJ from an FM station in the 70s. But you all decide. That in itself is not going to get thousands of people to make Sunny a habit. Gees, Dan was known for his wit, biting sarcasm, double entendres and incredible sense of timing. Let's get real here.

To equate this Sunny 105.9 on-air person to Dan Ingram is a complete disgrace and blasphemy at its root core. Ingram is the finest Top 40 personality that ever was or ever will be. No person should ever compare him or her self to this giant. He is above all others and always will be.

stormychuck...do me a favor when your station 105.9 get's past the top 10 in any demo then you might have some credibility...until then you are just another DJ in Orlando that will get fired 1 year down the road after they flip 105.9 again...

For the record, I am not Stormychuck, but thank you for the kind words and passion you have for my show. Isn't that the purpose of radio? When someone turns on your show and gets excited and feels connected?

I'm not trying to be Dan Ingram, no one will ever be Dan Ingram or John Landecker or Cousin Brucie, I'm just trying to give Orlando something unique and fun for their ride home.

We've got a long way to go, but the Winter book showed some promise. Look it up "radiomaniac" I'm already top 5 in two of my target demos of 25-54 and 35-64 women.

Like I said...a Looooooong way to go. Check me out 2p-7p on 105.9.

You guys are brutal....and need to study up on your radio history....

Domino is probably one of the all-time Top 10 CHR Night Jocks, having worked at some heavyweight stations, including WPLJ/New York, WAPW/Atlanta, KHKS/Dallas and KIIS-FM/Los Angeles.

I drove from Miami back up to Jacksonville a few weeks ago and had Domino on for several hours in the car. Orlando is damn lucky to have him.

GeorgeJ, I don't believe anyone has been "brutal." This whole thing went the way it did was because of the following quote - "I knew and loved Dan Ingram "DOMINO" is right up there with the like of Dan, being one of the best...." - that was the opinion of ONE poster. In the spirit and nature of these boards, the consensus of opinion was disagreement with THAT statement - and there is nothing wrong with that.

Personally, I believe in giving everyone a chance - look back and you'll see I said Domino was friendly and has rapport with callers etc. But that doesn't make someone a Dan Ingram. I appreciated seeing that response from Domino and I have no reason to doubt that wasn't him. So, to soften the blows - Good Luck "Domino" ;) I'm rooting for you and the format I persoanlly love and wish I had here in Jax. Yes, Orlando is lucky in many respects.

Dan Ingram won in NY. Domino didn't.

In fact he hasn't really won anywhere since leaving Rick Stacy/Power Atlanta 21 years ago. I guess we will find out if the combination can make it work a second time.

I listened to Domino a few days ago and thought his show sounded voice-tracked. Reminded me of an old Y-100 show from the late 70's without the
distinctive sound of a Don Cox or Robert W. Walker. It sounded scripted or canned to me. Dan Ingram was more of an extemporaneous speaker who
could ad-lib a commercial spot or an intro. I knew he was live and local. Wish Domino would do the same. Till then, I'm back to XM.
