CBS Roundup Anchor Christopher Glenn Retiring

I'm going to miss his newscasts. I didn't used to like them, they are too slow. But I've begun to admire the lowest voice in network news and the rock solid pacing and delivery he gives every morning.

So, who's in the running to replace him on the RoundUp?

Frequent sub Nick Young?
Morning Anchor Frank Settipani?
RoundUp Late Edition Anchor Bill Whitney?
or tremendous writer Harley Karnes?

We're a CBS affiliate...he has a great voice. I say give it to Mark Knoller :)
______________

Sam, a number of people have posted in the National TV thread that they would have difficulty airchecking Glenn's last World News Roundup (either due to poor reception, lack of nearby affiliate that carries, or affiliates that don't carry the full cast).

Maybe you could arrange for a recording off the network feed?
______________

If you promise to take the heat from the network when they find out, I'll use the extra output on the distribution amp to stream directly from the Starguide :)
______________

It would be nice to have both the 8:00am ET
and 10:00am ET Roundups for posterity.

Indeed. Glenn has those "one-of-a-kind" voices you hear on the air. He'll be missed, that's for sure. It's too bad that the CBS Radio Network doesn't have as many affiliates as it had in the past.

IMHO not just a great writer but a wonderful delivery also. It's a treat to listen to Harley.

the young people of the 70's will never forget him!

"In the News" was just as important as the great CBS Saturday morning Cartoon line up!.
