CBS Says "No More Bananas" To McMonkey

According to a source at CBS Sacramento;
Jeff "McMonkey" McMurray as he's been affectionately called on the air has been fired along with KHTK's Promo Director and Assistant.

KNCI's Mark Evans will add KHTK PD duties, as will the KNCI promotions staff.

My goodness. Pretty soon CBS Sacramento will have the interns programming the stations. What can we cut today radio continues.
Sure Mcmurray ran the station into the ground but why do they have the country pd coming over to run the sports station...Wasn't
the Mcmurray, who came over from Jack, experiment enough proof that they should hire someone who can program and sports talk
station?

I'm sorry to hear Jeff was let go. When will it end?! Surely laying off staff isn't going to bring in MORE revenue!

Geez, they didn't even let him hang around long enough to see JT the Brick's return to Sports 1140 KTHK last night!

Ironically enough, the only reason that I even caught it was because at about 8:30 pm last night KNBR 680 was running a promo for JT's new late night show while they had FOX Sports Radioprogramming on.

So then I thought to myself "sweet, JT's back on in the Bay area, and not on the low-wattage sister station KTCT 1050, but on the "50,000 watt flame thrower", KNBR 680!

And sure enough, come 9:00 pm, they switched back over to ESPN programming!

Bummer!

I figured just maybe, at 10:00 pm, they would flip back over to FSR for the debut of JT's new 5 hour, late-night format, but noooo, it was "All-night with Jason Smith"!

Then I dialed down to KNBR 1050, same thing, only with a slight delay (?).

So I kept going down the dial to Sports 1140 KHTK, and voila!, there he was back, "The Brickhouse" on in Northern California!

Sweet!

Sorry to hear about Jeff McMurray though, it's rough anytime anyone in radio gets booted, like what they did to Frank Redd!
