CBS SELL-OFF...THE FUNDS

A

As I had mentioned in a previous post...at one time CBS was interested in having a couple more FM's in the Houston market.

Other than to help reduce debt service, perhaps CBS is earmarking a couple hundred million from the proceeds of their latest sell-off to help fund the purchase of those two Houston FM's from Clear Channel.

Your thoughts...

Good point. However, if CBS does not wind up with the CC spinoffs, I think there is a distinct possibility they might unload the Houston cluster...and everyone except CC would be in play this time.

All sorts of possibilities: Univision replaces the rimshots with full market signals...or Cox adds two more sticks and dumps 97.1...Cumulus ditches the two rimshots. Maybe evern KGOW goes after 610? That's a reach, but fun to think about.

I'd like to see all the 'rimshots' returned to their cities of license. That means the Golden Triangle would get 93.3, 97.5 and 107.9 back to their rightful location where they belong. Fat chance of that happening.
