CBS SHOWS DOMINATING NETWORK PRIME TIME

Particularly impressive in this hundreds-of-channels environment.
Just for the record, let's go back to two seasons in the three-
network environment:

1963-64: CBS had 9 of the top 10 ("Bonanza" was the exception),
and 18 of the top 30

1973-74: Again, 9 of the top 10 ("Sanford And Son" was the exception),
and 17 of the top 20

In each case, CBS also had the number-one show ("The Beverly Hillbillies"
in '63-'64, "All In The Family" in '73-'74).

So to do what CBS is doing now against vastly-increased competition
almost seems to give truth to its slogan, "Only CBS."

Apparently people aren't sick of crime procedurals and cop shows. Of the top 20, 8 shows more or less fit that category: #1, 5, 11, 12, 16, 17, 18, and 19. All on CBS. Two new CBS crime dramas made the Top 20 - Unforgettable and Persons of Interest.
