CBS Sports Radio Network

I'm curious about this: the affiliate listing on CBS Sports Radio's website shows WDNC-AM "620 The Buzz" as Raleigh/Durham's affiliate of the newly-launched network. I thought that The Buzz (in conjunction with sister station 99.9 The Fan, on whose HD-2 channel The Buzz simulcasts) was affiliated with ESPN Radio? Also curious: There are only two other affiliates in all of NC, and both are sister stations in Charlotte: WFNZ-AM and WBCN-AM, the latter of which just flipped to sports recently. Any thoughts on this?

My understanding of the deal with Capital is that the Fan is the official ESPN affiliate and they are allowed to "dump" SVP & Rusillo on the Buzz to make room for David Glenn on the Fan. The rest of the Buzz's programming is CBS Sports, aside from Dan Patrick which is part of Fox Sports Radio.

Historically, CBS had multiple affiliates in most markets. Most were just commercial carriers and never aired any CBS content.

Wdnc was a fox sports station until switch to CBS sports. Fox sports was better that ESPN radio in that fox allows callers not just talking heads.
