WXNT was a hosh posh of Right Wing, Left Wing, Right WingPTBoardOp94 said:Who does Freedom 95 pick up who used to be on WXNT?
Anyone? WXNT's schedule was so bad, I'm not sure, especially with how Glenn Beck's star has been falling recently.
Flip this just returns Indy Sports Radio overload back to 3. we had 3 prior to WXLW's flip to the freedom 95 simulcast of WFDM, Indy had ESPN on 1070, Fox on 1260 & Yahoo on 950 till the middle of Summer. so its just due that we lose a News for Sports to return the scales. except we lose Beck, Schmerconish, Miller, Boortz (Who was gone anyways about now) Colmes, Hendrie along with the fact of losing yahoo sports.flip23 said:It's Indy radio sports overload. WXNT's already weak numbers will probably drop further with this format, but if CBS is paying them, who cares if nobody listens.
AIring PBP doesnt make you a sports station BTW. and WIBC has 3 hours of sports talk outside of the PBP stuff. and like i said PBP doesnt make Hank a PBP stationflip23 said:It's actually more than 3 at times, as WIBC airs play-by-play basketball as well as weekend sports talk shows. WLHK airs Colts games, pregames, postgames and coaches shows. WFBQ was airing a Colts pre-game show. Not sure if they still do. Anyway it's a lot of sports. The "Free Talk Live" show on WXNT last night made the announcement they were being dropped from the station after 7 years. Listeners from Indy called in saying they'd be complaining to WXNT, not that they expected it to matter.
WXNT was the station of minutes of dead air and miscues. Clearly they were treating their station like it's completely automated, and never got it sync-ed properly. What was worse is that nobody at the station bothered to monitor it.flip23 said:It's Indy radio sports overload. My guess to keep the NFL/NCAA Games that Dial Global now produces. they had to air some programming from NBC Sports Radio.hoosier_insider said:CBS on WXNT is fine. National hosts, and solid programming. Nothing spectacular. It is a nice second choice for sports fans when one of the shows on WNDE or The Fan becomes unlistenable, which happens. Here's my question. What the hell is WNDE doing with the hybrid of Fox and NBC? I get that some of the shows are FOX (Jay Mohr, JT The Brick) and they want to keep the consistency. But it sounds bad and/or confusing.

In LA while not on Fox Sports 570. NBC Sports airs at least 1 program late at night on Progressive Talker KTLK 1150. to satisfy something for CC to maintain something from Dial Global for 570
I Just find it odd that a Progressive talker is airing a sports talk show. (which is totally out of whack). I Know WLW carries a sports talk show. but thats dated back 30 something years so i just view that for wlw as regular.KeithE4 said:MikeStandardsFromIndiana said:hoosier_insider said:CBS on WXNT is fine. I'm not sure if that's an absolute requirement. Clear Channel also owns KGME (aka "XTRA") 910 in Phoenix. They don't run any NBC Sports programming, and carry all the Dial Global games. All non-local programming is from Fox Sports Radio or Dial Global. And AFAIK, they don't run any NBC Sports programming on their other Phoenix AM's (conservative talk KFYI 550 and adult standards KOY 1230) either.
