CBS STAFF AT KABC

There have been quite a few new additions to the KABC employment roster lately. Now granted, KABC has been dropping the ball the past year or so, and it should be infused with new blood if that's what it takes to make it the great station of the past. But, do they really want to bring in people from other stations that have crashed and burned or are doing just as bad. If you have a crappy tasting soup, you don't improve the flavor of the soup by putting it in a different bowl.

Perhaps trying to woo a few people from successful stations with a little more money and better opportunities? I mean what with the economy, I know people are looking for more money.

Am I wrong?

I don't quite honestly know what new additions you are talking about. Don Barrett reported just last Friday that KABC and KLOS infact laid off 6 people, so this is hardly adding to the roster as you say. Also they have no money. Citadel is flat broke. KABC would have been out of business had it not been for the Dodgers. So there is no money to buy people from successful station as you state.

KABC in all honesty deserves to die. The reason is because they can't have it both ways. They can't overcome KFI with their luke warm programming decisions. They put on Joe Scarborough to replace Bill O'Reilly but that was hardly a bold move. Their weekends are now mainly infomercials and the only bold move they made by having Tim Conway Jr. sub for Al Rantel came to a crashing end after a mere three days. If KABC is going to react to every whim that its 85 year old demographic listener wants then it is never going to come out of the basement. They really need to shake things up over there and I've seen nothing that says they can. They do not have the capability of making bold moves.
