Running "Guiding Light" at 10AM/9C probably wouldn't be considered out of pattern, as CBS was feeding the show at that time for stations that wanted to air it then. I think most, if not all, of the CBS O&Os in the East were running GL at 10...the same stations run "Let's Make a Deal" at 10 now.

There are indeed a few oddities in some cases, and you have to wonder what the stations were thinking or what the logic was. It's obvious that some of the Mountain Time Zone affiliates were utilizing portions of the live East/Central feed either for convenience or it just happened to work out for whatever the stations were doing, schedule-wise.

What about ABC and NBC? In Memphis, WHBQ when it was an ABC affiliate aired All My Children at 3pm after One Life to Live and General Hospital because they had a newscast at noon CT (AMC's normal time). WPTY/WATN also aired AMC at 3pm in its first few years with ABC. WMC aired Santa Barbara on a one-day delay at 11am.

GL was on a day delay if it ran at 10 am, I seem to recall.

CBS started a same-day 10/9C feed of GL in March of 2004; CBS started a same-day 9AM ET
feed of GL starting at some point in 2006.

In Oklahoma City, KWTV was. well, misread date as 1996, not 2006.

I find it odd that three of the Montana stations aired The Price is Right at 2PM weekdays. Usually the only time I see TPIR at 2PM is when March Madness games are going on...then Drew Carey airs in the LMAD slot on the west coast. These stations now air TPIR at 9AM MT.

...that, and the Pacific time zone, although Y&R's timeslot varied between 11 and 11:30am local time, depending on the market.

Prior to merging operations with KCAL in 2002, KCBS had a noon newscast for several years and at one point they and KCAL did the only noon news in the market. Once the two stations re-organized under new management (mostly coming from KCAL), the more-established (and viewed) KCAL noon news remained, and KCBS moved their midday news to 11am.
