CBS Staying Put!

No surprise, CBS is keeping their Hahtfud stations. They don't dominate every market like they do here, thanks in large part to the WTIC organization and the WRCH crew....Okay Salhany, you can exhale!

I think CBS Radio didn't want to let go of Hartford, CT because we are right in the middle of Boston, MA and New York City. But what is surprising is that CBS wants to get rid of Kansas City where that is a high market and CBS has some well ran stations their. Also I am surprised CBS is keeping it's Las Vegas stations. With this does this mean CBS Radio might want to get out of radio or maybe buy other stations in bigger markets? CBS also changed the name from Infinity Radio back to CBS Radio so why would CBS want to leave radio.

I don't think the location matters. It's the market dominance, both in the ratings and revenue. I'm surprised about Kansas City and San Antonio, too, actually, but they don't dominate there. In Las Vegas, they used to be dominant, but have been having trouble figuring out the market as it continues its explosive growth. The growth is key, though. For what they paid, the stations are incredibly valuable.
