CBS Television Distribution Syndication Bible

There was this website known as the CBS Television Distribution Syndication Bible located at paramounttv.com, an unofficial website about shows like Judge Judy and Judge Joe Brown. But since the past winter, when I tried to get in, I always get the message that "Safari can't find the website". Does anyone know anything about this? Is the website just getting a makeover? Or is it really shut down for good?

Knowing CBS, as they tried to shed the last remains of the Paramount name, they probably killed the domain, which was in fact, the official Paramount TV Distribution website for stations.

The new CBS TV Distribution site is http://www.cbstvd.com/, but it appears to be nothing like the old site. It looks to be a promotional tool for viewers.

One page that interesting to look at is the list of shows that CBS owns at  http://www.cbstvd.com/shows_main.aspx, and each show's page has the listing of where they are available. It's really sad how many classic shows like The Beverly Hillbillies, Hogan's Heroes, The Honeymooners, I Love Lucy, The Odd Couple, and Taxi are available on only a handful of stations nationwide, unless they happen to be on cable somewhere. And if the website is correct the original Star Trek isn't avaialable anywhere at the present time. I wonder how much of this is from CBS basically sitting on the shows and not promoting them, and how much is due to a lack of interest from stations that would rather show trash talk and infomercials. I think it's a combination of both.  :-\

What's sadder, is that there are a bunch of CBS owned shows that aren't even on that list....that aren't available anywhere.....Mannix, My Three Sons, The Lucy Show, The Love Boat (TV Land only aired about the first 5-6 seasons a few years ago, and CBS has released the first two seasons on DVD, but none of the later years are even out there), and a bunch more.

That page is neither accurate nor complete.

For example, contrary to what that website would indicate, the original "Star Trek" is airing in at least two cities. KDOC-TV (channel 56) runs "Star Trek" at 10 PM on weeknights in Los Angeles, and WADL-TV (channel 38) runs it at 10 PM on weeknights in Detroit (right after "Lost in Space").

Meanwhile, even though that CBS site doesn't list "The Twilight Zone" at all, that particular show is running here in Dallas/Fort Worth on KFWD-TV (channel 52) -- again, weeknights at 10 PM.

So there's obviously some information missing from the current CBS distribution website -- which, even aside from the missing information, is far less comprehensive and informative than was the old website.

KDOC, at least until most recently, also broadcast "The Twilight Zone", and the Fox owned-duo of KTTV & KCOP runs "I Love Lucy" daily (two hours weekdays on KCOP, one hour or two each Saturday & Sunday on KTTV, if not bumped for sports).

KDOC has a plenty of shows from the CBS/Paramount/old Viacom library (approximately half of their daily schedule)...
*The Andy Griffith Show
*Matlock
*Perry Mason
*Cheers
*Frasier (also airs overnights on KCBS)
*Everybody Hates Chris (also airs weekdays on KCOP)
*the aforementioned original Star Trek
*Get Smart
*movies from the Paramount Pictures library

We get "My Three Sons," and "The Lucy Show," on ME-TV in Chicago.

When I look up the Whois for PARAMOUNTTV.COM shows the domain registered by:

CBS Broadcasting Inc
The administrative contact for the domain is [email protected]
The domain was last changed on 12/17/09 and it will expire on 2/5/11
