The topic about Face the Nation leads me to ask this question. How many stations do not carry CBS This Morning: Saturday edition or pawn it off on a digital sub-channel?
WFSB Channel 3 in Hartford, CT (owned by Merideth) has never carried the Saturday Edition of CBS This Morning. The only way people in Hartford can see it is if they have Rabbit Ears. WFSB Channel 3.2 which is really WSHM-LD/21 (CBS 3 Springfield) carries it. Since WFSB Channel 3.2 is a simulcast of an out-of-market station, it is not carried on cable.
WFSB Channel 3.1
6AM-9AM Channel 3 Eyewitness News
9AM-Noon CBS Kids Block (Whomever the supplier of the CBS Kids Block has been over the years).
Meanwhile WFSB Channel 3.3 carries the awful Gina D's Clubhouse (from TBN) 9AM-Noon on Saturdays as their E/I programming. I assume Gina D is a TBN show. I've seen it on TBN. How did Channel 3 get it? The above mentioned WSHM-LD/21 out of Springfield (which airs on Channel 3.2) was previously a TBN Owned Translator. Merideth bought it from TBN some 10 or so years ago and made it a legit CBS station and cousin to WFSB. (WFSB had been the defacto CBS affiliate in Springfield for years). WSHM's master control is at WFSB in Rocky Hill, but has their own news originating from a studio at Monarch Place in downtown Springfield. The prior TBN ownership is also why WSHM ran The 700 Club for many years after the conversion to CBS 3 Springfield.
