CBS, Viacom To (Re)Merge

My point is that this needs to be approved by the shareholders. It may be a formality, but that has to happen before it's a done deal.

Thus reporting what shareholders might be doing, and giving a Thanksgiving merger date are both premature. It will take more than a few weeks to get the results back from the shareholders, considering that the mailing hasn't even gone out yet.
 
would Charter, Verizon, Sprint, or T-Mobile, be interested in a re-combined CBS/VIACOM?

One of the issues facing the AT&T Time Warner merger is the possible involvement of the FCC. It's been mentioned that Time Warner would be wise to sell the one broadcast TV license before the merger. Combining telecom and broadcasting, which are both regulated by the FCC, opens the door to more scrutiny that just a Justice Department review.
